Code of Conduct
Every local authority is required to adopt a Code of Conduct that sets out rules governing the behaviour of its members. The current Model Code of Conduct was issued by the government in 2007 and this new Code was adopted by Brenchley Parish Council at its meeting on 1 October 2007.

Most councils adopt more comprehensive Standing Orders to provide sound and sensible procedures which will govern the way they undertake business. Having reviewed its own arrangements, Brenchley Parish Council adopted revised Standing Orders at its meeting on 17 February 2009.
