Raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and compete in the Paddock Wood Half Marathon on Sunday 1st April.

St Luke's Church in Matfield publishes a quarterly newsletter which is designed to keep local residents in touch with what is happening at the church and in the community. The first issue of 2012 has just been produced.

The latest information is published on plans to rebuild Matfield Pavilion.

Following the public consultation meeting, on affordable housing in Brenchley, in November and public attendance at the Parish Council meeting in early December, the Council has produced a fact sheet which provides factual background to the housing proposal.

It’s now less than four months to the start of digital TV switchover in the Meridian TV region. When you switch depends on which transmitter broadcasts a TV signal to your home.

The Local Games 2011-2012 is the first initiative of the Brenchley and Matfield Community Association (BMCA). Their aim is to inspire, enthuse and engage local people, through a programme of events, activities and ‘happenings’, to celebrate the UK’s hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tonbridge Filmmakers have spent the last year filming events in Brenchley and Matfield. The film itself was launched at the Annual Parish Meeting in May and is now on sale in local shops.

Brenchley Memorial Hall and Sports Grounds now have a new website which gives details of all the facilities available there.

The broadband competition results were announced by BT on 3 January and, while we are not amongst the initial winners, the strong support received from local residents means that the campaign can continue.

At the Kent 'Village of the Year' results evening in Lenham on 15 September, Matfield received no fewer than 6 awards, including that of overall 'Village of the Year'. Matfield's Inn Store was runner up in the Kent 'Community Retailer of the Year' competition.

Cinderhill Woodland is a twelve hectare nature reserve on the edge of Matfield village. A new leaflet has been produced to help guide you around the reserve.
