Brenchley & Matfield Lawn Tennis Club
This is a friendly village club set in beautiful Kent country side. It is situated behind the Brenchley Memorial Hall and Sports bar,on the main road between the village of Brenchley and Matfield (TN12 7NX).
Facilities
The club has 4 floodlight hard courts (2 were resurfaced in 2010).
The clubhouse is fully furnished with a kitchen, ideal for socialising.
Patio area and court-side seating.
Car parking next to the club.
About Us
We are a social club welcoming all standards of player. We hope to provide something for everyone whether you are wishing to play competitively or just socially. We run regular events and tournaments encouraging our members to get involved in Tennis Club life.
Regular Weekly Club Sessions
Monday - Ladies club morning 9 - 11am ( school term time only) all standards welcome. Just turn up and play.
Wednesday - Men's club evening 6.30 - 8pm (throughout the year) all standards welcome, just turn up and play.
Thursday - Ladies club evening 7.30 - 10pm (coaching available 7.30 - 8.30 pay as you go £6 per session, coaching term time only). All standards welcome just turn up and play.
Friday (2nd and 4th of the month) 7-10pm is Mixed Tennis social with a BBQ or Chilli. All standards welcome and very much encouraged, just turn up and play.
Sunday - Junior club afternoon 1.30 - 3.30 pm pay as you go £2 per session run by a coach. Open to all junior members that are able to rally.
Sunday – Adult Match practice session 4pm- 6pm for members who play for, or would like to play for one of the teams.
Sunday (1st of the month) 10.30am- 12.30pm we run a Family social morning where we encourage members with children to come and play . This is a very relaxed morning where the adults are able to play tennis whilst the children play tennis against each other or just play in the clubhouse or in the grounds.
For all club sessions the balls and floodlights are provided, and run by a committee member unless stated.
If it is not an organised club session that you want then that is not a problem. Courts can be booked using a very easy booking system up to 2 weeks in advance.
Coaching
The Club uses the services of Breakpoint Tennis Coaching who aim to provide coaching for all ages and abilities as required by the members.

Breakpoint coaches run tennis camps (5 day courses) during the school holidays for children aged 4 and above. This is always very popular with the kids and parents!

Juniors
We run a very active junior section with most juniors attending group coaching.
They have their own Club social session on a Sunday 1.30- 3.30pm where they can put into practice what they have learnt in their lessons. This is a fun session that they can enjoy playing against fellow members of similar ability. This session is run by Baz Bignell one of our Breakpoint Coaches. Junior Tournaments are held every other month run by the coaches. They can:
- participate in local box leagues
- enter the annual Junior Club tournament
- enter the annual Mixed Generation Tournament with their parents.
