Tunbridge Wells Local Plan

19th September 2019

The new Local Plan for Tunbridge Wells borough will provide the basis for determining the suitability of development proposals across the borough (including Brenchley and Matfield) to 2036. A draft has now been issued which sets out the Borough Council’s proposed strategy for future development, the site allocations that relate to this and the relevant policies against which future planning applications will be assessed. Four potential development sites have been identified in Matfield but none in Brenchley. The plan is open for consultation until 1 November and details can be seen at beta.tunbridgewells.gov.uk/local-plan/draft-local-plan .  Any local resident can submit comments.

Brenchley and Matfield Parish Council has prepared a summary of the local implications of the draft plan.  This can be seen below.  The Council will be considering its own comments on the draft at its meeting in mid-October and would welcome views from local residents by 11 October.  Such comments might be copies of views being fed in  to the Local Plan consultation, additional points to any response to the Borough council or points which local residents might prefer to feed in via the Parish Council rather than commenting directly to the Borough Council.
