VE Day 75 – Friday May 8th 2020

04th May 2020

With VE Day approaching next Friday 8th May, a section on the Borough Council’s website will be launched on Wednesday 6th May devoted to the day. This will include the national timetable for the day, useful links to Government and British Legion websites (listed below), recipes including a recently discovered war-time recipe book, historical photographs and other surprises but most important of all they want to know and feature what you are doing as a community.

This might range from isolating garden picnics with families in their front gardens to decorations and bunting displays, community singalongs and anything else

Also most importantly historical photographs of VE Day celebrations and garden parties in your community as they happened in 1945 and on the day current photographs showing how we celebrated during lockdown in 2020.
