BRENCHLEY PARISH COUNCIL
RE-INSTATEMENT OF MILLENNIUM VIEWPOINT IN BRENCHLEY
A much-loved local landmark at The Crook in Brenchley is again on show at a popular vantage point, following work to repair damage caused by vandalism. It provides a guide to the stunning scenery of the Medway Valley, looking towards the Greensand Ridge and the North Downs.
The Indicator was unveiled by Malcom Butler in August 2018, who designed it, and Simon Marston, one of the residents who had organised local activities to mark the Millennium.
Mr. Marston led the fundraising to pay for the repair, and encouraged several other residents to follow his example. Additional funding was provided by the Parish Council.
Credit is due to Livingstone’s Foundry, based in Matfield, for their excellent craftsmanship in returning it to its former glory.
